By following the instructions below, you will make one earring. Repeat all instructions to make the second earring.
- If you are new to wire wrapping, please watch our video: How to Wire Wrap Cup Chain onto an Open Frame Pendant. Begin by cutting 1 foot of 26 gauge gold-filled wire, and attach the wire half-way up the side of your larger pendant frame by coiling 3 times around the frame. Clip the extra wire.
- Cut a length of size 24pp Austrian crystal rhinestone cup chain 13 links long (approximately 2.5 inches), and line up the chain along the side of your pendant frame starting with the first rhinestone link at your coiled attachment point. Follow along with the video to wire wrap each rhinestone onto your frame. Please note: instead of attaching the chain along the outer edge of the form as shown in the video, you will be attaching the chain along the side of your pendant frame facing forward (see photo for reference). Once you have finished wire wrapping all 13 rhinestones onto the pendant frame, coil 3 times around the frame after your last rhinestone to secure your work, and clip the extra wire.
- Next, please watch our video: How to Wire Wrap Beads Onto a Form. Cut another foot of wire and attach the wire half-way up the side of your smaller pendant frame, the same way you did in Step 1. Using what you have learned in the video, wire wrap eight 3mm Austrian crystal crystal emerald bicones along the bottom of your frame (see photo for reference). After your last bead, coil 3 times around the frame and clip the extra wire.
- Now you may want to reference this video on how to wrap a briolette. Cut 3 inches of wire, and follow along with the video to create the first half of your wire wrap above your scarlet Austrian crystal crystal briolette. String on one 3mm emerald bicone, then create the second half of your wire wrap, remembering to latch the loop of your wire wrap onto the top inner loop of your pendant frame before coiling the wrap closed (see photo for reference).
- Finally, use pliers to open the bottom loop of your earring hook the same way you would open a jump ring. Slide on the tops of both your pendant frames, making sure that the cup chain is facing forward. Close the loop. Enjoy your earrings!
