Mini bouquets of pressed organics are suspended in resin and framed by rectangular open back bezels in this necklace featuring Nunn Design elements.

Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

In addition to the materials listed, you will also need pressed organics, toothpicks, a face mask, disposable gloves, and a heat source such as a lighter or small torch to complete this project. Be sure to cover your work surface when using resin. These instructions will make a 27.5 inch necklace. To adjust the size, choose your desired length of cord.

Please watch the video: How to Incorporate Organic Matter into 2-Part Resin by Becky Nunn. Set up your bezels on thick tape as shown in the video.
Put on your face mask and disposable gloves. Based on the technique shown in the video in step 1, mix the resin in a mixing cup and stir gently with a craft stick until all striations are gone.
Based on the technique shown in the video in step 2, prepare your organics and position them in each of your rectangular bezels. Then carefully fill each bezel with the desired amount of resin. Remove any air bubbles with a heat source such a small torch. Let the resin harden and cure for three days in a dust-free and well-ventilated area before proceeding.
To assemble your pendant: Use pliers to open a 6.5mm gold etched jump ring, and attach your lotus charm to the silver hoop. Close the jump ring. Note: Be sure to hang each of your charms so that they are facing forward, working from left to right.
Open an 8.5mm silver twist jump ring, and attach your silver rectangle bezel to the silver loop. Close the jump ring.
Connect five 6.5mm gold etched jump rings and attach the elongated diamond flat tag onto the silver hoop.
Attach your gold rectangle bezel onto the silver hoop in the same manner as you did in step 6, this time using two jump rings.
Next, use cutters to cut 27.5 inches of faux leather suede cord. Fold your cord at the center and tie it onto the silver hoop using a lark's head knot (see photo for reference).
Use the fold over crimping plier to attach a 3mm foldover cord end onto one side of your cord. Repeat this step on the opposite side of your necklace.
Finally, open a 5mm jump ring, and attach the loop of your lobster clasp onto one cord end. Open another jump ring, and attach it onto the other cord end. Enjoy!
