Get twisted in this Russian Spiral Necklace featuring light and dark amethyst bugle beads. This design uses larger and smaller bugle beads to create a tapered look to lay comfortably at the neck.

This completed necklace is 21 inches. To adjust the length, add or subtract the amount of bead weaving to each section respectively. Please watch our video: How to do a Russian Spiral Stitch in Bead Weaving.

From what you learned in the video, cut off a length of beading thread. You will need to add more thread as you weave, so only use a length that you are comfortable working with.
Follow the instructions in the video to complete the Russian Spiral Weave. You will begin using the 11/0 seed beads and the dark amethyst size 2 beads bugle beads. Leave a tail of about 7 inches.
You will weave a spiral in this pattern: 1.5" Dark Amethyst Size 2, 1.5" Light Amethyst Size 2, 2.5" Dark Amethyst Size 3, 2.5" Light Amethyst Size 3, 3" Dark Amethyst Size 3, 2.5" Light Amethyst Size 3, 2.5" Dark Amethyst Size 3, 1.5" Light Amethyst Size 2, and 1.5" Dark Amethyst Size 2. For a total of 19 inches of bead weaving.
When you have come to the round of the spiral, pick up one closed jump ring and weave the thread back through the last round of bead weaving. Tie off and weave in your thread.
Take one eye pin and open the loop, same as you would a jump ring, and attach it to this closed jump ring. Close the loop.
String on one cord end to hide the jump ring. Make a wrapped wire loop.
Open one jump ring and attach it to the loop you just made and to one end of the magnetic clasp.
Repeat this for the other side of the necklace.
All done!
