Upcoming Live Class on Thursday, April 10th, at 9am PT/12pm ET - Beaded Kumihimo!

I am happy to announce another upcoming Beadaholique Live class that I have been able to pre-plan! You can order supplies ahead of time and bead along with me right in the class.

One of our most frequently requested classes has been for the Japanese braiding technique kumihimo. It's a fun and fairly easy jewelry making skill to learn and the results are just gorgeous! You can make beautiful beaded and non-beaded braids that can be turned into bracelets, necklaces, and more. For this upcoming class, I will teach you all about the tools you will be using (disk, bobbins, weight, etc.), start a bracelet, demonstrate how to do the actual braiding, how to add beads, and how to finish a bracelet. This will be a complete project class from start to finish!

For this class, you will need the following tools:

Supplies needed are (choose your favorite colors!):

Definitely feel free to choose your favorite colors of the above beads, cord, and clasps. You can use 1 color of S-lon cord for the whole project or you can spiral your cord and pick two colors to match your two colors of beads. The beads we will be placed on the braid to make a spiral pattern. Tip: choose high contrast colors of beads to create a more dramatic spiral. Learn more on our Kumihimo 101: How to Kumihimo Guide.

If you are inspired by this technique, I am happy to share that our best-selling kumihimo wrap bracelet kits are now back in stock! You could pick up a kit and then learn how to do the technique in the class with me!

I hope you can join me on Thursday, April 10th at 9am PT/12pm ET, but as always, the replay will be here on our site for you to watch anytime. Visit our Live Shows page for more info including how to sign up for a text alert!
