This necklace measures approximately 20 inches. To modify the length, simply adjust the length of chain on both sides respectively. You will also need a toothpick or scrap of wire for this project.
- If you are unfamiliar with Peyote, please watch our videos for Odd and Even Count Peyote.
- Using what you learned in the videos. Follow along with the pattern to create each strip of Odd Count Peyote.
- Once you have the strips you will zip them up. To see how to do this, please watch our video: How to Cover a Carrier Bead in Bead Weaving. You will then add a little dab of E6000 to secure these into place. Please see the photo for reference to see how to place the bead weaving onto the carrier beads. I've included one extra pattern for fun. Choose your favorite four patterns for your four large Carrier beads.
- Next move on to making the little rings of peyote that will go around the small carrier beads. These are going to be Even Count Peyote of 4 beads wide by 16 beads in length. Make 3 Aqua and 2 Pink. Once you have the strips you will zip them up. Then add a little bit E6000 to secure them in place around the center of the carrier bead, with both holes exposed.
- Let your beads dry for a few minutes while you prepare your chain and beading wire.
- Cut your chain into two equal lengths of 6 inches. Set aside.
- Cut two lengths of beading wire, 12 inches each.
- Place a bead stopper capturing both wires.
- Onto both wires string one 8mm bead. Then separate wires.
- On to the top wire, string one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one small carrier bead with the aqua beading. String on one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 8mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one large carrier bead.
- Continue to string in the following order: String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one small carrier bead with the pink beading. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one larger carrier bead. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one small carrier bead with the aqua bead weaving. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one large carrier bead. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one small carrier bead with he pink bead weaving. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one large carrier bead. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 8mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one small carrier bead with the aqua bead weaving. String one aqua seed bead, one purple seed bead, one 4mm bead, one purple seed bead, one aqua seed bead, then one 8mm bead.
- Repeat the above stringing, but string on the 8mm beads instead of the 4mm beads to create the curve. For the final 8mm bead, simply string the second wire through the same bead that is already strung.
- On to both wires string on one crimp tube. String one link of the chain. Thread the beading wire back through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp the crimp tube. Trim any excess wire. Add a crimp cover. Move to the beginning side of the necklace and remove the bead stopper. Repeat the above step on this side of the necklace.
- Open one jump ring and attach it to the last link in the chain and to one lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
- Move to the other side of the necklace and attach one open jump ring to the last link in this side of the chain and you're all done.
