Hi. Welcome back to Beadaholique.com's Learn to Bead Video Series. Today we have our seventh installment. In this video I'm going to show you how to make a simple pendant necklace hanging from a chain. What you're going to need for this project is two feet of silver plated chain. You're going to need a pendant. We choose a Swarovski Crystal heart pendant but you can choose any kind of Swarovski pendant works best for this project. We have a pinch bail silver plated, toggle clasp and two five-millimeter jump rings. For tools we have a pair flush cutters. We have either, you can use two pairs of chain pliers or a pair of chain pliers and a pair of bent nose pliers. So to start I'm going to shorten my chain a little bit. I have two feet here. I'm going to want to make my necklace Matinee length and if you watch the previous video you know that that means twenty to twenty four inches. I'm going to take mine twenty inches. So I'm going to measure one foot I'm going to measure an additional eight inches and very carefully cut my chain with my flush cutters. Always use safety glasses. I'm just going to set that down for a moment. I'm going to take my pinch bail. What I'm gonna do is instead of using tools because I don't wanna mar the metal or the pendant. I'm going slowly and carefully pry the bail open till it's open to about a quarter of an inch between the two prongs. And since metal weakens when you bend it too much. What you wanna do it is only use this one time. Now that I have my pinch bail opened I'm going to slide it onto my pendant where the prongs line up with the hole. Just as the name implies and I'm going to pinch it close. Give it a really nice good squeeze. Make sure it's on there securely. There you have your pendant. I my chain. I'm going to thread it through the loop so it kind of hangs from the chain. Then I'm going to open a jump ring. We also have a video for that on our website. I'm going to this slide one-half of the toggle clasp onto the jump ring. On to that same jump ring I'm also going to thread one end of my chain and then give it a twist. Close it. Im going to do the same thing on the other end of the necklace. Open my jump ring thread it through the last link of my chain through the other half of my toggle clasp. Close it once more. There you have it beautiful and simple necklace ready-to-wear. Thanks for joining us today please join us next time for our next video in the Beadaholique.com's Learn to Bead Video Series.
