In addition to the materials listed, you will also need some paper towels, a lighter or small torch, a face mask and some disposable gloves to complete this project. These instructions will make a 16 inch necklace. For a longer or shorter necklace, cut your leather cord to your desired length.
- Begin by painting the inside of your Nunn Design bezel with Vintaj patina. Pour out a little bit of turquoise Vintaj patina into a mixing cup. Using a dry paintbrush, paint the patina all over the interior of the bezel. Wait about 30 minutes for the patina to dry.
- Take your Nunn Design transfer sheet and cut out the word "wish" using scissors. Following the instructions on the back of the package, soak the paper in lukewarm water in a mixing cup until the sheet separates from the backing. Blot off the excess water with a paper towel, and then carefully place the word into the bezel, centered. Using another dry paintbrush, seal the transfer sheet with Nunn Design sealant. Let the bezel dry overnight.
- Next, please watch our video on how to use Nunn Design resin. Put on your disposable gloves and face mask. Based on the instructions in the video, measure your resin and stir with a popsicle stick until all striations are gone. When it is fully mixed, use the stick to drip the resin into the bezel a few drops at a time, until the resin reaches the upper edge of the bezel. Remove any bubbles with a heat source such as a small torch.
- Allow the resin to cure in a dust-free area for three days.
- Cut one 16 inch length of leather cord using flush cutters.
- Using pliers, open one Nunn Design twisted silver jump ring. Slide the jump ring through the loop of the bezel pendant. Close the jump ring.
- Repeat step 6 with another twisted silver jump ring, creating a pendant bail with two jump rings.
- Slide your length of leather cord through the two jump rings attached to the pendant.
- Place a dab of Hypo Cement glue into one foldover cord end and place one end of the leather cord into it. Use flat nose pliers to fold over one side of the crimp, and then the other. Wait several minutes for the glue to dry. Repeat this step for the other side of the necklace.
- Open one 4mm jump ring. Slide it through the loop of one cord end, and also slide on the loop of the clasp. Close the jump ring.
- Open another 4mm jump ring. Slide it through the loop of the cord end on the other side of the necklace. Close the jump ring.
- Enjoy your necklace!
