Retired - Summer Americana Tassel Necklace

1. Take the charm chain and separate out the coins. Add a jump ring to each coin charm. You will need 18 charms. Set these aside.
2. Remove the griffin silk from the card. Stretch it out a bit by running it through your hands. Cut two lengths of silk; one 2.5 feet and one 3.5 feet.
3. To one end of the silk there will be a twisted wire needle. Move to the opposite end and add a twisted wire needle. To the other length of silk, add a twisted wire needle the both ends.
4. Take the two ends of silk and string them up and back down through one thread protector. Slip on one lobster clasp onto the thread protector. Leaving one tail that is about two inches for both, tie an overhand knot. Add a dab of GS Hypo Cement and then add a crimp cover.
5. String on one striped red, white, and blue seed bead on to both strands.
6. Then on to the longer strand, string on the beads in the following order. Note: For simplicity sake, I will refer to the striped red, white, and blue seed beads as blue beads. String on: 33 white beads, 3 wood beads, 10 blue beads, 1 wood, 1 white, 1 coin, 1 white, 1 wood, 3 blue beads, 1 wood, 1 white, 1 coin, 1 white, 1 wood, 3 blue beads, 1 wood, 1 white, 1 coin, 1 white, 1 wood, 10 blue beads, 3 wood beads, 5 white, 1 wood, 1 white, 1 tassel, 1 white, 1 wood, 5 white, 3 wood, 1 blue, 1 coin, 1 blue, 1 wood, 1 blue, 1 coin, 1 blue, 1 wood, 1 blue, 1 coin, 1 blue, 3 wood, 5 white, 1 wood, 1 white, and in the center, 1 tassel. From here, reverse this above pattern to work your way to the other side. Once you have strung all of your beads, place a bead stopper on the end of the cord.
7. On to the shorter strand, string: 5 white, 1 wood, 3 blue, 1 wood, 10 white, 1 wood, 3 blue, 1 wood, 3 blue, 1 wood, 10 white, 1 wood, 1 blue, 1 coin, 1 blue, 1 wood, 3 white, 1 wood, 1 blue, 1 coin, 1 blue, 1 wood, 3 white, 3 wood, 1 blue, 1 tassel, 1 blue, 1 wood, 1 white, 1 coin, 1 white, 1 wood, 1 blue and in the center 1 tassel. From here, reverse this above pattern to work your way to the other side.
8. String on one blue bead on to both strands.
9. Take both cords up and over the thread protector. This may be a snug fit, so if you need to you can widen the opening of the thread protector a bit with a chain nose plier, and once the threads are through, gently pinch it closed. Add a closed jump ring to the thread protector, then make an overhand knot. Add a dab of GS Hypo Cement and then add a crimp cover. Trim the ends of the griffin silk. And you're all done!
