Interesting beautiful project but head pin sizing off

I fell in love with this design as soon as I saw it and added the listed components to my cart asap. That said, it doesn't seem that 1.5 inch head pins are the correct size. I had to do 1 less bead and I still barely had enough to wrap the loop once. I should have done 2 less beads but was afraid the dangle would look unproportionate. I suggest if you want to make this project that you get a longer head pin. Other than that, it's gorgeous.
