This necklace uses a chain extender for adjustable length from 16 to 18 inches.
- Please watch the video: How to Add Rows of Seed Beads to Wood Beads. Based on what you have learned in the video, begin by using 22 gauge wire to secure your wood bead using round beads and simple wire loops on either side.
- Follow along with the video to create your beaded bead by stitching eleven rows of Miyuki 11/0 round seed beads around a brown 15mm wood bead. Note: for this design, you will be stringing sixteen seed beads in each row. Once you have added all of your seed beads, tie off and weave in your thread as shown in the video.
- Next, follow along with the video to remove the wire and metal beads from your beadwork. Set the beaded bead aside.
- To string your necklace: Begin by using flush cutters to cut 18 inches of beading wire.
- Onto the wire, string the following beads: twenty five 11/0 seed beads, one green bicone, one daisy spacer, one green bicone. Repeat this pattern twice more, then string on twenty five more 11/0 seed beads.
- Next, string on one green bicone and one bead aligner with the core facing away from the bicone.
- Now string on your beaded bead. Then string on another bead aligner so that the core fits inside of the beaded bead. Also string on another green bicone.
- Repeat step 5 in reverse to string beads onto the opposite side of your necklace.
- To attach your clasp: Onto the wire, string one crimp tube. String the wire through the loop of your clasp and back through the crimp tube. Pull snug and crimp the crimp tube. Clip the excess wire and add a crimp cover.
- Repeat the previous step on the opposite side of your necklace, this time stringing the wire through the end link of your chain extender. Enjoy your necklace!
As specified in the video, I secured the wood bead using the following placeholder beads and wire: 6mm fluted gold plated round beads (BMB-5064) and 2 inches of 22 gauge Artistic Wire (WCR-2230).
