Retired - Golden Fleck Necklace

1. To begin, please watch our video on how to fill an open-back bezel with resin. Following the instructions in the video, cut a piece of clear packing tape and place it onto your work surface, sticky side up. Place your Nunn Design open frame pendant onto the tape and press down hard all around the edges of the frame so it sticks in place and no resin will seep out.
2. Take a few flakes of gold leaf and begin layering them inside the frame. Use larger flakes to lay down directly onto the tape to form the background, and then sprinkle smaller flakes on top. The flakes not stuck to the tape will float when the resin is poured in. (Make sure to layer more than one flake onto the tape - when you peel the tape away at the end a thin layer of gold leaf will come off with it.)
3. Next, watch our video on how to use Ice Resin. Put on your disposable gloves and face mask. Based on the instructions in the video, measure your resin and stir with a popsicle stick until all striations are gone.When it is fully mixed, use the stick to drip the resin into the frame a few drops at a time, until the resin covers all of the gold leaf flakes and reaches the top of the bezel. Remove any air bubbles with a heat source such as a small torch.
4. Allow the resin to cure in a dust-free area for three days. When the piece has cured, gently peel the packing tape off the back of the frame.
5. Using pliers, open a jump ring. Slide on the loop of your frame pendant and also the chain of your finished chain necklace. Close the jump ring.
6. Enjoy your necklace!
