These instructions will make a 22 inch necklace. For a longer or shorter necklace, adjust the length of faux leather cord on both sides of the necklace.
- Using flush cutters, cut a 12 inch length of faux leather cord.
- Make an overhand knot close to one end of the length of cord. Place a dab of Hypo Cement glue on the knot. Let dry for a few minutes.
- String three wood oval beads onto the cord and slide them down to the knot. Make another overhand knot close to the last bead strung.
- Place a dab of Hypo Cement into the well of one gold fold over crimp and slide the end of the cord without the knot into the crimp. Use the fold over crimping pliers to crimp the cord end.
- Repeat steps 1-4, creating the other side of the necklace.
- Using flush cutters, cut a 5 inch length of gold beading wire.
- String one crimp tube onto the beading wire. Wrap the end of the wire around one piece of the faux leather cord between the first and second wood beads, then take the wire back through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp the crimp tube with crimping pliers.
- String one gemstone bead, followed by one gold Czech seed bead. Repeat this pattern until you have three inches of beads strung on the beading wire.
- String another crimp tube. Wrap the end of the wire around the other piece of faux leather cord between the first and second wood beads, then take the wire back through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp the crimp tube with crimping pliers.
- Repeat steps 6-9, except attach this length of beading wire between the second and third wood beads on both sides of the necklace, creating a second gemstone strand connecting the lengths of faux leather cord.
- Open a jump ring. Slide it onto the loop of one cord end, and also slide on the loop of your clasp. Close the jump ring.
- Open another jump ring. Slide it onto the loop of the cord end on the other side of the necklace. Close the jump ring.
- Enjoy your necklace!
