PROJECT B2377
Designer: Kat Silvia
Skill Level: Intermediate
Learn a new way to clasp a loom bracelet by using adjustable slider clasps with chain and Austrian crystal for an elegant touch.
Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

You will also need a scrap of 22 gauge or thinner wire for this project.
  1. This loom bracelet uses the Ricks Beading Loom. This loom allows you to use the Miyuki Slide Ends. Please watch our video: How to Use the Ricks Beading Loom. Set up your loom as seen in the video. Set the two bars 5.5 inches apart to accommodate the pattern.
  2. Please see our Printer Friendly PDF for Full Color Beading Pattern and begin adding beads. Complete the pattern and remove the piece from the loom as shown in the video. Tie off and weave in all tails.
  3. Attach the Miyuki Slide Ends to both sides of the loom piece.
  4. Cut four lengths of chain, 2 inches each. Adjust the lengths of chain for size to allow it to slip over the wrist easily. Using jump rings attach all four lengths of chain, one to each of the loops of the slide ends.
  5. Next thread the chains through the slider clasps using a scrap of wire as seen in this video.
  6. Attach one Austrian Crystal channel charm to each end of each chain with jump rings.

Clear instructions but hard to put on

Just finished this last night. I did not find the instructions confusing. Read carefully and click on the links provided and use your own common sense to combine the different techniques. I love the colors of the patterns but not the clasp itself. It is interesting in theory and looks fun but it is not easy to put on with one hand.

Missing info...

Yes, the photos are good and helpful, but step #5 of the PDF tutorial says to "thread the chains through the slider clasps using a scrap of wire AS SEEN IN THIS VIDEO". But, I watched the video, and it does NOT show or give any instructions on how to attach or use this particular chain slider clasp. The video only shows how to bead a strip on the loom...nothing about a clasp. I'm pretty much with Mari's review on this one.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. The online instructions for this project includes links to five different videos. The links are on this page in pink and are clickable. In step 5, if you click on the link to the video, the video is called 'How to Make An Adjustable Slider Clasp Bracelet' and shows you how to make the slider clasp used in this bracelet. Our Printer-Friendly PDF, since it is meant to be printed as a reference, does not contain any clickable links to videos or products, so please refer to the instructions on this page.

Great looking bracelet

Saw this bracelet in the email and haven't made it but had to leave a review after reading the previous comment with a ONE star review because she couldn't read instructions or look at pictures. I can't stand that! 4 pieces of chain, 4 loops on the slide ends. It's pretty easy to see how it's attached even without the extra photos and how on earth anyone would think the other video is for this bracelet when they look completely different. Pet peeve of mine sorry.

The Missing Link?

The concept sounded great and I loved the bracelet and the slider. I have no idea, though, how the finished product (clasp) should look? It's great that the instructions for the bracelet are there and the video on how to make the slider clasp but how in the world is it attached? Instruction on the video say cut chain, one foot, and double it. Written instructions say cut enough for 4 inches pieces.

Usually your instructions are clear cut but this is not and it doesn't make any sense to me at all. It would have been nice to see a picture of the clasp attached to the bracelet. Well, what the heck, it's not worth stressing over.......just take this one off my list!

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. To help with your issues:
- There are two extra photos included that show how the finished clasp should look. One shows the back of the bracelet, the other shows the bracelet on the model. If you are unable to view these photos, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance with browsing our website.
- The video linked in step #5 shows how to 'thread the chains through the slider clasps using a scrap of wire as seen in this video' for those unfamiliar with the technique. The video shows how to make a completely different bracelet, but the technique referenced for threading the chain is the same.
We hope this helps clear up any confusion.
