Gemstone Beads, Amethyst Grade AA, Faceted Nugget 11-17mm, Purple (6 Pieces)

I've ordered these beads before, maybe 3 years ago, and most were near the top end of the stated size range. This time, not so much. Granted, there's a wide size range in the description. I got a good discount on my holiday order, so I still got great value for $. Excellent color, good clarity.

I am satisfied with the quality, condition, and accuracy of product listing for 4 out of 6 amethyst beads. Of the 2 that I am not mostly satisfied with, one bead had a particularly obvious & rather deep scratch across one entire faceted face. The other bead just really didn’t have that deep, luscious purple-violet color that I had hoped for and received with the “good” 4/6 beads. It’s very cloudy with deep, prevalent grayish-white tone. I waz happy with the other 4/6. Very beautiful (mostly).

These beads are beautiful. They have a deep purple color, are fairly symmetrical, lovely polish and are a versatile size for most of my projects. I am buying more now. Very happy with this purchase.

I've bought these beads several times -- I think sometimes they've been graded AAA and other times AA, but the color is always a beautiful deep purple (just as shown on my monitor), intense but not so dark that it looks black-purple, just a rich purple! The cut on most of them has been fairly symmetrical, maybe not perfect but pretty close. There's a similar but cheaper natural amethyst bead that isn't so symmetrical, still very pretty for less formal or chunky necklaces. Sizes do vary, so if you're hoping to get one or more reasonable pairs for earrings, order at least a dozen (2 sets), and even then there's no guarantee. I've used them with other amethyst beads (don't mix these with dyed amethyst, though, or the dyed beads look really bad) and also with white freshwater pearls, with a couple of clear crystal beads thrown in for extra sparkle.
