Retired - La Nuit Necklace

1. Cut two lengths of gunmetal chain: 14 inches, and 7 inches.
2. Center the smaller length of chain against the longer length. Open a 5mm jump ring and attach one end of the shorter chain to a link of the longer chain about 3 1/2 inches down, then close the jump ring. Open another jump ring and attach the other end of the shorter chain to a link of the longer chain about 10 1/2 inches down, then close the jump ring.
3. You will now connect the two lengths of chain with the 6mm round pendants. Open a 5mm jump ring and slide on one 6mm crystal silver night round pendant. Find the midpoint of both lengths of chain and attach the jump ring to the middle link of each chain. Close the jump ring.
4. Open another 5mm jump ring and slide on another 6mm crystal silver night round pendant. Count six chain links from where the previous pendant is attached, and attach the next pendant to the sixth link up on both pieces of chain. Close the jump ring.
5. Repeat step 4 four more times, so you have six 6mm pendants, each spaced six links apart.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 on the other side of the center pendant, so you have 11 total pendants connecting the two lengths of chain.
7. Cut a 5 inch length of chain. Center this piece of chain against the 7 inch length of chain. Open a 5mm jump ring and attach one end of the 5 inch piece of chain to a link of the 7 inch piece of chain about 1 inch down, then close the jump ring. Open another jump ring and attach the other end of the shorter chain to a link of the longer chain about 6 inches down, then close the jump ring.
8. You will now connect the 5 inch and 7 inch lengths of chain with the 8mm round pendants. Open a 5mm jump ring and slide on one 8mm crystal light chrome round pendant. Find the midpoint of both lengths of chain and count three chain links to the left. Attach the jump ring to the third link of chain from the middle on both lengths of chain, so the pendant dangles between two of the smaller pendants above. Close the jump ring.
9. Open another 5mm jump ring and slide on another 8mm crystal light chrome round pendant. Count six chain links to the left from where the previous pendant is attached, and attach the next pendant to the sixth link up on both pieces of chain. Close the jump ring.
10. Repeat step 9 twice more, except use two 8mm crystal silver night round pendants. You should now have four 8mm pendants on the left side of the necklace.
11. Open another 5mm jump ring and slide on another 8mm crystal light chrome round pendant. Count six chain links to the right from the pendant in step 8, and attach the next pendant to the sixth link up on both pieces of chain. Close the jump ring.
12. Open another 5mm jump ring and slide on another 8mm crystal light chrome round pendant. Count six chain links to the right, and attach the next pendant to the sixth link up on both pieces of chain. Close the jump ring.
13. Repeat step 12 twice more, except use two 8mm crystal silver night round pendants. You should now have eight 8mm pendants dangling from the necklace.
14. Cut a 3 inch length of chain. Center this piece of chain against the 5 inch length of chain. Open a 5mm jump ring and attach one end of the 3 inch piece of chain to a link of the 5 inch piece of chain about about 1 inch down, then close the jump ring. Open another jump ring and attach the other end of the shorter chain to a link of the longer chain about 4 inches down, then close the jump ring.
15. Open an 8mm jump ring and slide on one 22mm graphite pear pendant. Find the midpoint of the 3 inch length of chain and attach the jump ring to the middle link. Close the jump ring.
16. Open a 5mm jump ring and slide on one 16mm graphite pear pendant. Count six chain links to the left of the focal pendant from the previous step and attach it to the sixth link of chain. Close the jump ring.
17. Repeat step 16, attaching another 16mm graphite pear pendant to the right of the focal pendant.
18. Move to one end of the 14 inch length of chain. Open a 5mm jump ring and slide on the last link of chain, along with the loop of your clasp. Close the jump ring.
19. Move to the other end of the necklace. Open an 8mm jump ring and slide on the last link of chain, along with the first link of one necklace chain extender. Close the jump ring.
20. Enjoy your necklace!
