hi this is kat with beadaholique.com and in this video i'm going to show you how to make an adjustable bracelet with a swarovski crystal focal so i have my pre-made adjustable bracelet like this and it kind of comes like an x so you can then sort of adjust it by pushing that little slider up and down so i have that all ready to go i have my gita finding for an oval crystal i have my oval crystal i also have some of the beautiful baroque swarovski pearls that i'm going to be using i have some eye pins and some head pins and then i also have a popsicle stick right here and that's going to help me set my ring or excuse me set my crystal into my focal there and then i have two pairs of chain nose pliers i have some flush cutters and some round nose pliers so if you have everything ready to go let's go ahead and dive in this is going to be really quick and easy and fun okay so the first thing i'm going to teach you how to do is to set that crystal into your prong setting so what we're going to do is we're just going to kind of wiggle that so that it sits right in the center there now i like to kind of put my thumb on it i know uh you're definitely gonna get some fingerprints on it but don't worry those will come off nice and easy so what we can do now is we can just take our popsicle stick and what i'm gonna do is i'm just gonna do a little rolling motion over the top to bend that prong in so just sort of bend it in and you can just sort of see the amount of pressure is not too much but you definitely want to really get it in there so now looking at my piece i just did this one up here i'm going to go to this one across because we want to make sure that it's going to sit in there nicely so i'm just going to bend that in and just again just using that popsicle stick this helps prevent any scratches from happening so then of course i have these two to complete so i'm just going to come over here bend that in come to this side and just bend that one in now if you need to kind of go around just sort of smoothing anything out we want to make sure that it is nice and secure in there we definitely don't want to lose our crystal there we go all right and i like to give mine a little shake make sure it doesn't sound loose at all so let's see nope sounds pretty good all right so yeah don't worry about that fingerprint we'll take care of that later so we can set our popsicle stick aside now we're going to make a couple of other components here before we start assembling so i'm going to take one of my head pins and i'm going to string on one of the baroque pearls and let that slide all the way down to the bottom next what i'm going to do is i'm going to come in with my round nose pliers and i'm going to pinch it just just above the pearl because i want to do a little wrapped wire loop on this one so i'm going to bend that backwards wrap it up and over the top bring my pliers around and then just sort of bring that over across just like so and now i'm just going to wrap it and i like to sometimes grab my chain nose pliers here to help me so i'm just going to wrap that around once and it looks like i can get it around another little time there all right so now i can remove my pliers come in with my flush cutters and just trim that off now if you need to you can come in with your chain nose pliers and just sort of pinch that together just make sure we have a nice nice little bobble there so i have one i'm just going to go down there on the end and i'm just going to repeat that process for a second purl here go ahead and slide that on come in just above it bend it back wrap it up and over wrap around i'm going to start with my little pliers here this is why i like to use some of those extra long eye pins i just i really like to have that extra mobility there all right and just come in trim that off set my little scraps aside and it looks like i'm just gonna need to just pinch that guy in just a little bit perfect all right so i have two of my little dangles ready to go now on this first side here and let's go ahead and start assembling this by adding those two little pieces to the bottom so go ahead and grab your chain nose pliers now the jump rings that are attached to here are actually open little jump rings so you can just give them a nice little gentle twist slide on one of your little wrapped wire loops and come in with your pliers and close that back up all right now make sure you're going to the correct side here so we want to make sure that when we try to open it it's going to be on the right side so you want to make sure that you're not doing it this way because then it's just the same strand that you'd be pulling through all right so we're going to come to this side here and just find that little seam had to turn it around all right and give that a little gentle twist slip on our bobble and close that up okay so this is what we now have so you can make them even or uneven however you want to kind of wear them is entirely up to you all right so we have that now what we're going to do is we're going to create this focal here but it's a little small to create the focal with just that crystal so what we're going to do is we're going to be able to expand that using some eye pins and some of these baroque pearls so now i'm going to take an eye pin and here's where i'm going to do a simple wire loop as opposed to a wrapped wire loop scooch that down but it's pretty much the same concept so you're just going to come in you're going to come in a little tighter towards the top of your pearl and just bend that backwards wrap it up and over the top rotate your pliers and we're just going to finish by bringing it across and then we can just come in and trim okay so just set that aside so we're going to repeat that four more times really fast here there we go slide that down and make that little simple loop once you get the hang of this it's really really fast and easy now i'm using the baroque pearls mostly because you get six per lot so i figured that would be nice to just use the whole completed look but feel free to use other crystals or you can use other other beads anything you want here to really make this design your own and we also do have a lot of colors of the swarovski crystal oval stones that will fit in the gita settings um we also have this same design that you could do and you could make it your own in gold so we have that finished or sorry i rather semi finished adjustable chain bracelet in gold as well so if that's more your speed all right okay so now we have our four little components together let me just set my scraps aside okay so if you had other beads you can absolutely add them to extend the size but we're going to go ahead and just come in here and all i want to do is i'm just going to open and close these like little jump rings and what i'm going to do is just connect one to the jump ring there and you can also open the jump ring if you wanted to attach it that way that's fine and then come in here i'm gonna take one more open that up and attach it and then i'm going to close that one and then i'm going to come to this side here and do the same thing so i'm just going to open that up right there and close that and then come to this side here open that up and close it this is sort of the easy part it's all those opening and closing so now you can see that we have a much bigger space for our bracelet there so the final thing that we're going to do here is we are just going to attach our little crystal to the center and again you can choose lots of other different focals there are all kinds of different connectors that you can use to do this same style so it's really really easy and fun all right and we're just going to close that up and we are all finished so now we have our adjustable bracelet i love those baroque pearls they have a nice little shine and shimmer to them so that is how easy it is so this is a really easy design to create and personalize so like i said we have gold we have crystals we have all different kinds of these uh pearls you can use bigger pearls smaller pearls whatever fits your style alright
