1. Cut off a piece of thread about 3 feet. Place a bead stopper 1 foot from the end and thread the other end through a needle.
2. Thread on 50 long magatama beads. Allow the beads to be an any position. They should not be uniform. Begin your peyote stitch and let the beads go where they please, stitching all the way back to where you started, just keep a good tension on the thread. The idea is to make them look like twisted coral. See photo for reference.
3. When you come to the end, turn your thread around and weave back in for extra strength. Remove the bead stopper and thread this end in too. Tie off and trim your thread. Set aside.
4. Cut two lengths of gold chain, 6 inches each. On one end, open a jump ring and attach it to the last long magatama in the strip of peyote chain. Repeat this with the other length of the chain.
5. Cut 6.5 inches of cup chain. To both ends, attach cup chain ends as demonstrated in this video.
6. To one end of the cup chain, attach a link of three jump rings. Before you close the third jump ring attach it to the jump ring that has the gold chain and magatama on it. Move to the other end of cup chain and repeat.
7. Now to finish the clasp, open a jump ring and attach it to one end of the gold chain. Close the jump ring. To the other side, open a jump ring and attach the lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
8. Clasp your necklace and you are all finished!
