This necklace measures 22� long with a chain extender that measures 3� long. To adjust the length of this necklace, simply make the faux leather cord longer or shorter.
- Begin by cutting two 7� lengths of black faux leather cord with your flush cutters.
- Next, watch the video on How to Use Ribbon Crimps.
- Following what you learned in the video, add a ribbon crimp end onto the ends of each of your faux leather cord lengths. You should have a total of 4. Set aside.
- Next, cut a 3 inch length of antiqued gold chain with your flush cutters. Set aside.
- Cut 12.5 inches of beading wire with your flush cutters. I have already included 3 extra inches on either side to allow for crimping.
- Onto a headpin, slide on one 4mm Metallic Bronze bead, followed by an 8mm metallic gold bead and another 4mm metallic bronze bead. Create a simple wire loop with your round nose pliers and snip off any excess with your flush cutters.
- Open up the simple loop (how you would a jump ring) and slide on the last link from one side of your length of chain and close.
- Open up a 4mm jump ring with your chain nose pliers and slide it onto the last link on the other end of your length of chain. Before closing, also slide on the loop from one end of one of your black faux leather cord lengths and close.
- Open up a 8mm jump ring and slide it onto the loop on the ribbon crimp end on the other side of that same faux leather cord length and close. Open up another 8mm jump ring and slide it onto the first jump ring and close.
- Take your wire length and add on a crimp tube. Slide it through the second 8mm jump ring and bring it back through the crimp tube again. Pull snug and crimp your crimp tube with your crimping pliers.
- Onto a headpin, slide on a black tear drop bead followed by a 4mm metallic bronze bead and create a simple wire loop. Snip off any excess wire with your flush cutters.
- Repeat this process 2 more times. Set your 3 bead dangles aside.
- Now you will begin adding on your beads onto the beading wire. String on your beads through the short tail of wire as well for added security. String on: 3 black 10mm beads, 3 metallic 8mm gold beads, 1 black teardrop bead dangle (slide on through the simple wire loop), 3 metallic 8mm gold beads, 1 black teardrop bead dangle, 3 metallic gold 8mm beads, 1 black teardrop dangle, 3 metallic gold 8mm beads, 3 black 10mm beads and 1 crimp tube. String your wire through a 8mm jump ring and bring it back through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp your crimp tube. Snip off any excess beading wire from the short end.
- With your chain nose pliers, open up a second 8mm jump ring and slide it through the first 8mm jump ring and also the loop on the ribbon crimp end on one side of your second black faux leather cord length. Close the jump ring.
- Open up a 4mm jump ring and slide it onto the loop of the ribbon crimp on the other end of your second faux leather cord length. Before closing, also slide on the loop from your antiqued gold lobster clasp and close.
