Skill Level: Intermediate

Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

You will also need a paint brush for this project.
  1. Begin by using the bending pliers on the rectangle blank. If you look closely at the blank there is a front side and a back side. You will want to clamp down gently so that the curve will dome up. (Just as it would curve around the wrist). Gently move the pliers from one side to the other as you release and clamp down again forming the rectangle into a curve.
  2. Watch our video on How to Use StazOn Ink and Rubber Stamps for the next step in this project. For this bracelet, you can follow the stamping I did exactly (as seen in the picture) or you can get creative where you place the stamps. The ink dries fairly quickly but I find it's best to give it a minute before continuing.
  3. Once you are done with your stamping, use your paint brush to paint a fine layer of GlazeOn protectant. Be sure to wash your paint brush right away. Set your stamped piece aside to dry.
  4. For the rest of the components, begin by taking the chatons, two olivine and two topaz, and put them into the prong settings. You can see this technique in this video. How to use Nunn Design Prong Settings for Chatons. Set the completed pieces aside.
  5. Now we can begin to build the bracelet.
  6. Before beginning this next step watch our video: How to Open and Close Jump Rings.
  7. Starting at one end: Attach one 6mm jump ring to the round toggle clasp. To the 6mm jump ring, attach one 8.5mm twisted jump ring. Then one 6mm jump ring, one Topaz prong chaton, one 6mm jump ring, one Olivine prong chaton, one 8.5mm twisted jump ring, one flat circle pendant, one 8.5mm twisted jump ring, one Olivine prong chaton, one 6mm jump ring, one twig connector, and one 8.5mm twisted jump ring. This will take you to the rectangle pendant, if it is dry continue, if it needs more time, wait and continue with the other side.
  8. Continuing on: Attach the last twisted jump ring we added to the rectangle pendant, then one 8.5mm twisted jump ring, one Topaz prong chaton, three 6mm jump rings, and finally the silver leaf clasp.
  9. The only thing left to add is the bird charm. Take one 6mm jump ring and add it to the charm, and close the jump ring around the twisted jump ring that links the twig and the rectangle.
