  • Braided bead thread has been recommended in many recent how-to articles on beadworking. This is the fiber to use for all stringing which requires extra strength or multiple passes, but involves beads with small holes.
  • This super strong, flexible, pre-waxed braided beading thread is made from gel-spun polyethylene, one of the strongest fiber cords per diameter ever created. Beadworkers and beadstringers will find that this new product feels and works better than the finest bead thread, yet is as strong as jewelry wire. Most beads will not cut this product. It does not stretch, it knots easily, and will pass through a #12 beading needle. Similar to size A or B Nymo.
  • Quantity: 1 spool of 50 yards of Crystal Clear .005 inch FireLine bead thread.

Best Beading Thread

This is the best beading thread I have ever used. It works great for stitching with beads, peyote, brick stitch, you name it. It has high tensile strength and is very resistant to breakage. It is also easy to tie finishing knots into it. It is thin enough to pass through small beads multiple times, and it is nearly invisible in a finished product. Wish I started using this stuff sooner.

first time working with this thread

really like it for the projects i have going on at the moment. i agree that simple kids scissors DO work great for this thread lol

My experience, with a tip.

I enjoy working with this thread. It drapes beautifully and you never have to worry about fraying. I've used this with bead sizes 8/0, 10/0, 11/0, and 15. I've also used it with Swarovski crystals, and the glass edges have never cut the thread. While it's more expensive than regular nylon thread, I think it's worth it.

TIP: I cut this thread with children's scissors. Someone told me that several years ago and it always works. (Cutting it with my regular beading scissors doesn't work well.) There is now a cutter made specifically for Fireline and similar threads, but why spend the extra money when a cheap pair of kindergarten scissors does the job perfectly?

With the four-pound Fireline, you don't have to worry about cutting it on a slant like you sometimes need to do with the thicker Fireline, and it works well with both 10 and 11 needles (being larger, the 10s are of course a bit easier). After cutting it, I run it through Thread Heaven. I don't think they make that thread conditioner anymore, but any thread conditioner should work.

The crystal color is your basic white.

I tried it liked it bought more

I use for beading with delica beads 11 and smaller, it holds up better than silamide however it may tangle if you don't wax it well.
