Glistening stainless steel beads accentuate the sheen of deep blue Austrian crystal rings in these simple and elegant earrings, finished using complementary stainless steel earring hooks.
Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

By following the instructions below, you will make one earring. Repeat all instructions to make the second earring.
  1. Begin by using flush cutters to cut 1.5 inches of 24 gauge wire. Onto one end of the wire, make a simple wire loop.
  2. Slide on one 4mm stainless steel bead, then make another simple wire loop on the other side of the bead.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2, this time using two inches of wire and a 6mm stainless steel bead. Note: make sure that one of your loops is at least 6mm in diameter to accamodate the Austrian Crystal ring that you will be attaching in step 5.
  4. Use pliers to open a loop on one side of your 4mm bead the same way you would open a jump ring, and slide on the smaller loop of your 6mm wrapped bead. Close the loop.
  5. Next, open the larger loop of your 6mm wrapped bead, and slide on the Austrian Crystal Ring. Close the loop.
  6. To attach your earring hook: Open the loop on your earring hook the same way you would open a jump ring, and slide on the opposite loop of your 4mm bead. Close the loop.
  7. Enjoy!

  • FEA-9753 - Earring Hooks, French Wire 25mm, 144 Pieces, Stainless Steel
    Project uses 2 pieces. You will need 1 package.

  • WCR-2440 - Artistic Wire, Copper Craft Wire 24 Gauge Thick, 10 Yard Spool, Stainless Steel
    Project uses 7 inches. You will need 1 package.
