Kumihimo Square Plate For Japanese Flat Braiding

I agree with more information needed on the use of this square disk if one is to add beads. I can do a flat braid on my round disk...A person deserves, especially a beginner to have a mid point in learning...what I mean is that one not be intimidated to purchase a more expensive kit, to learn some basic techniques....thus, the person will not continue with Kumihomo or they may proceed to purchase a more expensive kit.

Most of my knowledge of flat kumihimo comes from personal trial and error. The instruction sheet that accompanies the plate is really lacking, both in techniques and finished product uses. Creating a flat braid is fine, but what impact the addition of beads have on the outcome? What patterns can you make? How do you set up the plate to create those patterns? Users deserve more information. I would recommend to a friend with a conditional warning: As is.
