This knotted pearl necklace features the Preciosa Crystal Nacre pearls, knotted on Griffin silk for a classic look with a trio of colors.

This necklace measures approximately 20 inches. For a shorter necklace, simply eliminate a few pearls from the pattern equally. For a longer necklace, you will need to purchase additional pearls in the colors of your choosing.

If you are unfamiliar with Pearl knotting, please watch our video: How to Do Pearl Knotting Using Tweezers. For this design you will use a different method for the clasp.
To begin, thread the needle end of the silk up and over the thread protector. Slide the thread all the way through until you have a tail of about 4 inches on the non-needle side. Add a closed jump ring to the thread protector and taking the two ends of the silk, tie an overhand knot. For a little extra security, I recommend tying a double knot. Add a dab of GS Hypo Cement to the knot and then add a crimp cover. Trim the short tail end.
Then begin your knotting by adding one knot using your tweezers, then add one lavender pearl and knot again as seen in the first video.
Pattern for the Pearls: Start with 1 lavender, then 1 white, 1 grey, and 1 white. Repeat five times. Then 13 lavender, 1 white and 13 grey pearls. Then 1 white, 1 grey, 1 white and 1 lavender. Repeat five times.
To finish the clasp on this side, thread the silk up and over another thread protector. Before tying a double overhand knot, add one lobster clasp. To help get your knot as close as possible to the pearls, be sure to use your tweezers. Once you have knotted the final knot, add the glue and crimp cover, then trim the silk.
