This 25mm turquoise dyed howlite stone is captured using a versatile wire wrapping technique which can be applied to a range of cabochon shapes and sizes, no glue or drill holes needed.

Instructions

These instructions will make an 18 inch necklace. For a longer or shorter necklace, choose your desired length of chain.

Please watch the video: How to Make a Caged Wire Wrapped Cabochon. In this video, you will see from start to finish how to make this necklace using Artistic Wire in 24 gauge and 20 gauge. First, you will see how to create the frame for your cabochon by cutting and wrapping the wire. Then you will see how to wire wrap a bail and spiral embellishments for the cabochon. Finally, you will see how to hang your pendant onto a chain. You will also see other sizes and shapes of cabochons that have been wire wrapped using the same technique.

This wire wrapping technique can be applied to various shapes and sizes of cabochons by simply adjusting the gauges and lengths of wire as described in the video.
