Retired - Vintage Arbor Earrings

PROJECT E685
Designer: Julie Bean
Skill Level: Beginner
The black, white, and antique copper color palette of this pair of earrings has a distinct vintage feel to it, yet it is still elegant and fresh. Also featured is a toggle clasp that has been turned into a connector and focal point, showing you that your imagination is your only limitation in design

This pair of earrings is very easy to make! Remember to double the directions below to make your matched pair of earrings.
  1. Start by snipping the head off an antique copper color head pin. At the end of the wire, create a simple wire loop. Slide onto the wire 1 Austrian crystal crystal 3mm white faux pearl and 1 Austrian crystal crystal 8mm chessboard bead in jet black. Create a simple wire loop after the last bead and snip off excess wire with flush cutters.
  2. Open the simple loop beneath the pearl and link it to the loop on the ring part of your toggle clasp. Close the loop back up. Now open the loop on the other side of the chessboard bead and attach this to the bar part of your toggle clasp. Close the loop back up.
  3. Snip the head off of another head pin. Create a simple wire loop on one end. Slide onto the wire 1 Austrian crystal crystal 3mm white faux pearl. Create another simple wire loop right after the pearl and snip off excess wire with flush cutters. Using your chain nose pliers, twist one of the simple wire loops so that its orientation is opposite the other loop.
  4. Open the simple wire loop on one end of the pearl and attach it to the bar part of your toggle clasp. Close the loop. Open the other simple wire loop and attach it to your earring hook. Close the loop.
  5. All done!
