The Semi Glazed Toho seed beads have a wonderful matte-like quality but still provide a dimensional luster finish. The beadwork in these earrings is inspired by the look of a 1970's Vintage America, where denim ruled fashion and the American Spirit was flying high.

Instructions

By following the instructions below, you will make one earring. Repeat all instructions to make the second earring. Before beginning this project please watch our video: How to Bead Weave Circular Brick Stitch Around a Ring.

Based on what you saw in the video, thread your needle with a length of thread that you are comfortable working with. You may need to tie off and add more thread.
Take the 20mm quick link and make one row of brick stitch using the soft blue seed beads all the way around the ring.
Using the dark red, complete another row on top of the soft blue seed bead row you just added.
Using the navy blue, complete the third row of circular brick stitch.
To complete the final row of gold seed beads, please watch our video: How to Bead Embroider a Picot Edge. In this video you will see the technique of how to add a picot edge to a bead embroidery piece, however it is the same for this piece. As you come around to the "top" of this circle you will need to add your 6mm closed jump ring, and capture it in the stitch.
Tie off and weave in your thread for this top piece.
You will repeat the above process with the 25mm quick link. One row of soft blue, one row of dark red, and one row of navy blue. When you come to the gold picot edge, you will weave all the way around, however the top ring and this bottom ring share three gold beads in the picot edge. You will weave as usual, just use the gold beads that are used in the top ring as well. Make sure to choose three gold beads that are centered so that your earring hangs properly. Tie off and weave in your thread.
Open one 4mm open jump ring, attach it to the closed jump ring and the earring hook. Close the jump ring.
