These instructions will make a 7 1/2 inch bracelet. To make a longer or shorter bracelet, adjust the number of repetitions of the pattern (you can pause the pattern at any point to end the bracelet).
- To begin, please watch our video on how to do flat even count peyote stitch. Cut a length of Fireline thread as long as you are comfortable working with, and thread a size 12 beading needle.
- Following the pattern image without embellishments, string your first 8 seed beads and begin weaving peyote stitch, working from the bottom of the pattern image up to the top. Repeat the pattern twice more, or as many times as you like to reach the desired length of your bracelet.
- Next, watch our video on how to embellish peyote stitch with brick stitch accents. Following the pattern image with outer edge embellishments, use brick stitch increases and decreases to add extra rows of beads to the outside of the leaves and berries on both sides of the bracelet.
- Separate the two halves of your gold tube clasp and move to one end of your bracelet. Line up the two loops of the clasp with the last row of beads and sew through the row, weaving in the loops of the clasp between beads. Tie off and weave in your thread tail. Cut off the excess thread with thread snips.
- Move to the other end of your bracelet and repeat step 4 to attach the other half of your clasp. Tie off and weave in your thread tail. Cut off the excess thread with thread snips. Enjoy your bracelet!
