Retired - Spirals and Stars Necklace

1. Use your flush cutters to cut two pieces of the twelve gauge royal blue wire at six inches long each, two pieces of the twelve gauge apple green wire at six inches long each, and one more piece of the apple green wire at one foot long.
2. Using the narrowest point of your round nose pliers, create the beginning of a coil on each piece of wire. Continue coiling each length of wire, either by hand, or by grasping the wire with a pair of nylon jaw pliers.
3. Use your needle nose pliers to bend the last inch of wire on each coil at a ninety degree angle to the rest of the coil.
4. Place each coil, one at a time, on to a bench block. Hammer each coil flat using the checkered side of your texturing hammer.
5. Once you have hammered each coil, place the tip of one half of your round nose pliers in the very center of the coil, pressing upward to give each coil a domed effect. There should be a small space between each layer of each coil.
6. Use your round nose pliers to curl the one inch tail of each coil downward and away from the domed, textured side of the coil to create a bail. Set all coils aside.
7. Cut your one foot length of double-link antiqued copper chain into two equal, six inch long halves. Set these aside.
8. Cut a length of copper colored beading wire at one foot long. Secure one end of the wire with a Bead Stopper.
9. Onto you wire, thread the following:
10. a 6mm Lime Austrian Crystal round
11. a 6mm antiqued copper star filigree bead
12. a 6mm Sapphire Austrian Crystal round
13. a small apple green wire coil (threaded on through the bail)
14. a 6mm Sapphire Austrian Crystal round
15. a 6mm antiqued copper star filigree bead
16. a 6mm Lime Austrian Crystal round
17. a royal blue wire coil
18. a 6mm Lime Austrian Crystal round
19. a 6mm antiqued copper star filigree bead
20. a 6mm Sapphire Austrian Crystal round
21. and the large apple green wire coil
22. After threading on the centerpiece, finish stringing the remainder of the strand as a mirror image of the first half.
23. On to the end of the strand, thread a copper crimp tube, but do not crimp it yet. Thread the end of your strand through the double link at one end of one one of the pieces of chain, and back through the crimp bead and several consecutive beads on the strand. Pull your wire snug, making sure you leave enough wiggle room for the double chain links, and crimp your tube. Trim excess wire from this end of the necklace.
24. Remove the Bead Stopper from the other end of the strand and repeat the previous step, only this time use the other six inch length of chain.
25. Open two antiqued copper jump rings. Attach one to the double chain link at on end of the necklace and close it once more.
26. Use the other jump ring to attach the lobster clasp to the double chain link at the other end of the necklace. Close that jump ring again.
27. Thread a 6mm antiqued copper star filigree bead onto five antiqued copper head pins.
28. Create the beginning of a wrapped wire loop on each head pin. Before you finish wrapping the loops, thread each head pin onto the bottom coil of each of the five wire coils. Complete the wrapped wire loops and trim off all excess wire.
