Instructions

Note: Components and tools listed within this INSTRUCTIONS box and the printer-friendly PDF, if available, may have been discontinued since this project was published. Refer to the PURCHASE COMPONENTS and TOOLS AND OTHER SUPPLIES sections for current availability.

Before you begin, measure your wrist. You'll want your finished bracelet to fit about 1/2" longer than your wrist measurement. The clasp adds about 3/4".
  1. The video: How to Weave Faux Suede Cord Through Chain will show you how to weave this bracelet together.
  2. Cut a length of 5.7mm antique silver plated round rolo chain the length of your desired finished bracelet, minus the 3/4" for the clasp.
  3. Now cut six more lengths of chain that are four links shorter than the first piece.
  4. Arrange the lengths of chain side by side with the longer piece in the center, two links extending past each end of the other chains.
  5. Weave white faux suede cord through the chains, starting with the first link in the shorter chains and the third link in your longer chain, as demonstrated in the video. Start with a piece about 4' long and leave a tail at the beginning of your work.
  6. Continue to weave back and forth through the chain links until you have woven through all of the links of the shorter chains. There should be two links left on the end of the longer chain.
  7. Weave the tail ends of your cord back through the back of your piece, applying a bit of E6000 glue to secure. Trim the excess once the glue has dried.
  8. Use a 4mm, 21 gauge antique silver plated jump ring to attach one half of an antique silver plated spiral toggle clasp to the last link on one end of the center chain. Repeat with another jump ring and the other half of the clasp on the other end of the bracelet.
  9. Allow the glue to dry for at least 24 hours before wearing.
