Hi, this is Julie and in this video i want to review with you some of your tool options to use with crystals most of these are going to be used with flatback crystals one is not i'm going to review that one last but let's first look and see what choices you have when it comes to flatback crystals when you're shopping on the website you'll notice that there's going to be two categories hotfix and no hotfix flatbacks i was going to show you an example of each but there's not going to really show up on camera because the crystals are going to look the same from the top from the outer all outer appearance they're going to look identical the hotfix ones just have an extra coating on the back whereas the no hotfix ones are plain and do not but on the surface they all look identical if you're using hot fix crystals you're going to need a applicator for them we've got two options here we have the be jeweler pro and we have the hotfix applicator wand both work very similarly and both come with a little die set which gives you a variety of sizes available so you can use it with multiple sizes of flatback crystals these are electrical you plug them into the wall and what that does is it heats up the tool which then melts that coating on the back of the hotfix flatback crystal and then you don't need a separate glue source so that's really handy if you're doing a lot of work with flat backs now if you want to go ahead and use flatbacks without the hotfix on the back there are several tools available and I've pulled three of them here so we have the magical pick mini the full-size magical pick and the crystal katana all three work very similarly so what you're going to do is you're going to take the cap off and you're going to take the tip and press it on to the top of the crystal and that tip is slightly sticky and that's what's a hearing to it so then you would go ahead and you would put this wherever you want on your piece of jewelry so you lay down a little bit of glue first such as GS hypo cement or e6000 and you place it into the glue bed and release crystal katana works very similarly it too is just a matter of pressing the tip onto the top of the crystal so those are the tools for the flatback crystals and you can see they are quite tiny so you are going to want a tool to use with them now there is another crystal tool that we offer and that is the crystal applicator tool this actually is quite easy to use I have very small hands and I can still easily manipulate it so this tool requires an extra die set to be purchased and I have a die set over here and you're going to pick the die set for the function that you want and we have ones for applying buttons snaps and Rose pins as a separate die set for each and you actually just easily fix it to the tool itself and you pull the handle down and it will do the work for you we have a full video showing you how to use this how to attach the die set so please do check that out if you want more information on this particular tool but I did want to let you know it is available so I have one example of use here and this uses swarovski snaps and you can see this is just a really simple bracelet made with ultra suede and a beaded edge and by using the crystal applicator tool we were able to securely fasten these snaps and they look very professional as a very polished look so that's a great tool if you are doing a lot of work with textiles and you want to have a professional look without having to invest in an industrial type tool so this is really handy and takes a lot of effort out of the process for you I hope you enjoyed this overview of tools that you can use with crystals please check out the beadaholique website for not only these tools but a full selection of crystals to use with them you
