Retired - Nottingham Earrings

1. Begin this project by watching the following video which will teach you how to bead weave peyote stitch: How to Flat Even-Count Peyote Stitch.
2. Based upon what you learned in the video and using the bead pattern chart provided, stitch your bead swatch. You will need 40 inches of thread. For the Carrier beads peyote wraps, they will be 24 beads long and 6 beads wide.
3. Next, please watch the ""How to Cover a Carrier Bead in Peyote Bead Weaving"" video shown above. In this video you will learn how to zip up your peyote strip and how to attach it to a Carrier bead. Do this for your bead.
4. Cut the head off a head pin so you have a nice piece of straight wire. Create a simple wire loop Slide a 4mm pearl onto the wire so it rests near the loop. Feed the wire through one of the holes of the Carrier bead. Once it exits, place another 4mm pearl onto it and create a simple wire loop after the pearl. Trim off excess wire.
5. Repeat the above step with another head pin and pearls but this time going through the second hole of the Carrier bead.
6. Slide onto your unfinished earring hook a 4mm pearl and create a simple wire loop after it. Also slide onto a head pin 1 4mm pearl and 1 6mm pearl. Create a simple wire loop after the last pearl. Set aside both of these pieces for now.
7. Take your chain and cut apart 4 segments that are 4 links long each.
8. Now it is time to assemble your earring from the top down. Open the loop at the base of your earring hook and slide 2 cut chain segments onto it. Close the loop.
9. Open both of the loops at the top of your Carrier bead and attach the end chain links from the chains attached to the earring hook onto these loops, one each. Close the loops.
10. Open both loops at the bottom of your Carrier bead and slide one chain segment onto each. Close the loops.
11. Open the loop at the top of your 2 pearl dangle and slide on the end chain links from the previous step. Close the loop.
12. All done! Enjoy.
