- Based upon what you learned in the video, paint a thin layer of agate patina over the front side of 2 Vintaj artisan copper art nouveau leaf charms. Let dry. Now paint a wash of onyx (1 part onyx patina to 3 parts glaze) over the leaves. You want there to be an uneven appearance to the wash, having it thicker in some areas and lighter in others. Let dry.
- Your antique copper plated chain consists of a series of open chain links which act as jump rings. Measure 1.5" from the end of your chain. At that point, open and separate the chain link (with the 1.5" still attached). Before closing the link, attach onto it the loop at the base of your black finish pewter stud earring. Close the link.
- Open the bottom link of your chain attached to the earring stud. Connect onto this link one of your patina painted leaves.
- Go back to your original length of chain and open and remove the end chain link. Use this chain link just like a jump ring.
- Go back to your earring now and count 6 chain links from the bottom (including the one with the leaf attached). Onto the 6th chain link from the bottom, attach your "jump ring" from the previous step and also connect onto it the second painted Vintaj copper leaf. Close the jump ring.
- Place an earring back on the back post of your earring after you complete the last step.
- All done, enjoy your pretty new earrings!
Note: you will need a small paint brush for this project as well as some type of non stick work mat or a work space that you can get paint on. Also remember to double these directions to make your matched pair of earrings.
