Retired - Journey to China Necklace

1. Begin by cutting 40 inches of beading wire. Place a bead stopper about 3 inches from one end.
2. String on 12 gold beads.
3. Then: 1 white agate, 1 gold - repeat 11 times.
4. Add: 1 wood, 1 gold - repeat 4 times.
5. String on 1 jade, 1 gold tube, 1 jade, 5 wood.
6. Then: 1 jade, 1 tassel - repeat 8 times.
7. Then: 1 jade, 5 wood, 1 jade, 1 gold tube, and 1 jade.
8. Add: 1 gold, 1 wood - repeat 4 times.
9. Add: 1 gold, 1 white - repeat 11 times.
10. String on 12 gold beads.
11. String on one crimp tube. Thread the wire through the wire protector as seen in our Quick Tip Video: Using Wire Protectors for Strung Jewelry. Then before threading the wire back through the crimp tube slip on the loop of the lobster clasp. Thread the beading wire back through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp the crimp tube. Thread the wire back through a few adjacent beads. Trim any excess wire. Add a crimp cover.
12. Move to the beginning side of the necklace and remove the bead stopper. Repeat the above step on this side of the necklace, adding a closed jump ring to the wire protector before crimping the crimp tube. Make sure you don't pull too taut because you want the necklace to have a nice bend when closed.
