hi this is megan with beadaholique.com a right angle weave bracelet and this is from one of our exclusive kits and it does come in a few colors and here i have the black and silver one and the one i'm going to make to show you is actually the burgundy and pink version what comes in your kit is going to be three colors of czech glass fire polish beads and you should have a couple bags of each one you also going to get some fireline braided beading thread a little two strand two clasp and a package of beading needles some other things that you'll need is going to be a pair of scissors and a ruler and if you have a thread burner that's helpful if you don't have one you can do it without so we're going to do is go ahead and get started here putting your bracelet together with right angle weave you're going to bead with all three colors so go ahead and open up one package of each of your beads if you any of them do comes on a strand just go ahead and snip the Strand as your bead weaving you can work with as much thread as you're comfortable with at a time I like to work with about six feet I don't really like to work with more than that so go ahead and cut a length of thread and thread a needle you want to pull your thread down close to being even but leave a tail on one side so you're only going to weave with one thickness all right right angle weave is made with units so you create a unit of four beads and then you build off of that unit and you're going to be building other units so your first unit is going to be four of the darkest beads that you have thread them on the needle and pull them down and you want to leave at least about a foot of a tail here so a foot two to almost about 14 inches somewhere in that range I'm just going to tie a standard double knot that's going to pull your beads into a ring now you're going to take your needle and you're going to go through the next two beads that are right next to the knot so that is one unit of four beads now we're going to build our second unit and to do that you're going to pick up three of your pink beads or your medium color string those three and then what you're going to do is you're going to go back through that first bead in the unit in the same direction as you're going so completing the circle you pull that snug and see you have one unit here and the second unit here and now we need to go through the next two beads you want to always be traveling around the circle and you will sometimes switch and do figure eights so you'll switch back and forth in which direction you're moving but you learn to try to always continue to travel around in circles for this weave now we're going to put the third unit which will be the last one in this first row and to do that you're going to pick up three of your lightest color bead so in this case it's going to be by silver beads three of them and then we're going to come back around and go through that first bead in the unit again to complete the circle so this is your first three units and this is going to complete your first row you can see on this one here you have black hematite and silver here we have burgundy pink and silver so you can see it's going to work just like that to get our thread around to start our next row you're going to go through the next three beads in the unit and three so now we're going to start building our first unit in the second row and we're going to just build it right on top of that last unit so what we're going to need to pick up is one the medium color beads and two of our light color beads and then complete the circle by going through the first bead in that unit then you're going to go up through the next bead continuing in the circle and that's going to get us ready to build our second unit in our second row and to complete this unit around I need to add one of the medium beads and one of the dark beads and for these second and third units in the subsequent rows you're only be adding two because they already have to have this bead and this bead so go ahead and come down and go back up through that bead right there to complete the circle and you're going to go through the next three beads to get yourself ready to make your third unit in the second row okay now the first bead we're going to go through for that next unit is actually going to be the one that's already here at the bottom so you went through all three of these and the bead in the first bead in the next unit there now we're going to just finish that unit off with two of your dark colored beads then you're going to go back through both of the beads in that unit there's your first two rows done but you have your one two three units in row 1 and your one two three units in row two and at the end of every row you will go ahead and weave around to the top bead so that you can step up to start your new row and you can you will work back and forth you don't need to get over to one side every time just work up to the top bead in the unit that you're currently on so now we're going to build a new unit off of this bead and you're going to need three of your dark color beads for that and then you'll complete the circle and then keep going around through the next bead for the next unit we'll just need two big beads to finish that and then you're going to finish the circle by going through the next bead and the one above and then you're going to want to keep going to the next two beads in this unit and if they get a little loose as you work just make sure that you keep your work nice and snug to start the next unit you're going to go through the bead that's there in the next unit over also and then you'll add your two light color beads and go back through both of the existing beads in that unit to complete the circle okay I'm going to show you the step up one more time all you do is weave around in the unit that you're in until you get to the top bead when you build your first unit there and then go ahead and keep weaving around until you're in the position to build your second unit and go ahead and complete that unit we've around to be in position for your third unit and then you'll complete that unit you and you're just going to continue exactly that way until your bracelet measures about three quarters of an inch less than what you want for your finished bracelet and that's going to account for the last work we do here to attach the clasp and a standard bracelet size for women is usually seven or eight inches so you can use one of those standard sizes or you can just add a little bit of ease on to your own wrist measurement you can add somewhere between half an inch to an inch of ease depending on how loosely you want it to fit as you're weaving you may depending on the length of the thread that you started with you may run out of thread and need to tie off and add a new thread so what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to stop when you still have about eight inches of thread somewhere in that range you want to make sure you have enough to tie a knot and weave the end in so I have more than that here but I'm just going to show you in case you need to do this what you'll do is wherever you have your last unit completed you're going to take your needle and go between through the beads and just catch the thread I'm going to make sure you keep your work nice and tight you're just going to take that loop and bring your needle through it and pull tight and use your nails to kind of push that knot down kind of leave through a couple more beads and we're going to tie another knot just to make this really secure same thing catch the thread leave a loop go through that loop and pull tight and now we're just going to continuing along and the figure eights like you've been doing weave through several more of the beads you don't want to cut your thread right next to the knot because that will increase the chances of the not coming undone so just weave around a little bit once you've got some distance from your knot then you're going to trim your thread off if you have a thread burner you know how to use that that's great otherwise you can use scissors you're just going to pull the thread with a like a medium tension as you hold the scissors and snip and if you pull on the thread that's going to give it enough tension to have the thread bounce back into the bead now you would stick a new length of thread on your needle I'm just going to use a shorter new piece because I don't need a whole other six feet if you're not sure how much you need use more than you think you need so if you're not sure that you don't need a whole nother length use a whole nother length so go ahead and thread your new length onto your needle and then we're going to start a couple of beads away from where we finished off you're just going to catch the thread between two beads and then just tie a double knot with your new thread around that thread and now weave through to get back to where you left off and then you'll just continue your weaving at the end you'll go through and you'll weave in all of your tails and trim them off just make sure that you don't do anything with your starting tail because you'll need that to attach your clasp now if you can get all the way through your bracelet without adding thread that's fine just make sure that at the end you're going to have at least about a foot to finish up and attach your clasp and if you don't have that much you will need to go ahead and add new thread at that point when you've woven your bracelet long enough that it's three-quarters of an inch less than what you're looking for for your finished length then we're going to finish up and attach our clasp what we're going to do is actually weave the two outside units on one more row and not put the top middle bead in so go ahead and weave the first unit and now instead of weaving the second unit here I'm going to go down into the unit below on the other end and I'm just going to work my way around to that top bead so that I can build the unit on top of there now we need to go through to work through until the point where we can add the last bead so go ahead and move up so you're coming out of the side there now we're going to add that last top bead for the middle but we're going to add it onto the tube clasp so go through one end of your clasp through one of the loops and then you're going to pick up that bead go back down through the other loop and then go back down through that next bead to complete your unit okay go right around through that unit one more time and make sure to catch the loop on your way through like you did the first time then we're going to go through the end units again and when you're going through these side beads and the units that are adjacent to the clasp loop go ahead and go through the loop and then through the bead so that you're catching it in the middle there and we're going to just work right around to the other end unit and again on these two beads adjacent to the loop go ahead and catch the loop and you want to go through everything twice anything that's attaching the clasp go ahead and go through twice I'm just going to work right back around through this side and then on my way back over to that side it takes me up around that'll be three times through that's fine I wouldn't go through more than about three times but if you go through a few times it's just going to make it stronger your threads not going to show up very much against that gunmetal clasp so it's not going to look messy and one more time back through the side you could have gone through this side right around twice to avoid going back and forth to whichever way you prefer all right we're all done on that side I'm just going to tie off my thread oops when we've fed in and then trim off the extra we're going to move to our beginning tail we're going to thread that tail that we left on to our needle we're just going to do the same process on this side so right now I have the knot in the corner I'm going to go through this first bead and then I'm going to build my last unit work over to the other end unit it's the same thing we did on the other side and I'm going to build the unit on to this end as well and I'm going to move up to the top to add the last bead while I attach the clasp just as I did before when you attach your clasp the second half be very careful that you're lining up your clasps correctly so that when you go to close your bracelet it doesn't twist you don't want the little nail head ends to be on the same side you want them to be on opposite sides so that they fit together correctly so be very careful of that when you add your last bead over here you also want to make sure that you have a top side where your beads stick up at the end and then a bottom side where they don't grab your last bead go through the loops and complete that unit now we're just going to finish up exactly as we did on the other side so stitch back through everything you want this to be secure but don't do it so tight that this won't bend nice and flat it's a little bit of a different way of doing the clasp so you want to make sure that it stays nice and and flat all right now I'm going to weave through this to side units mmm catch the loop I'm just going to go ahead and go through that one twice now and then we've over to the other side remember to catch that loop on this end as well and go through twice and then once you get back to the interior of the bracelet go ahead and tie off and weave in then you'll just remove your needle and trim up that thread and now if you did have to tie off an add new thread during your weaving you'll have a tail that tail has been knotted it's secure you just need to weave the end in so that you can trim it so go ahead and place that on a needle and just weave through a few of the beads and then trim that off and you're all done so you'll just bring your tube clasp around and that's it that's how you make our fire polish ombre right angle weave bracelet kit you
