Hi everyone this is Tracy Gonzales with TierraCast and I am at beadaholique.com to show you how to use TierraCast rivetable components to embellish a flat cork, rubber or other leather alternative strap design the process is very easy. You just need to determine where you're going to put your rivetable and mark that spot with a pencil or an awl I've already marked my spot on this design with a pencil and then I'm going to punch a hole two millimeter which is the smallest setting on this leather punching plier. You may want to go up to 2.5 millimeter if your material is very stiff but this material is pretty soft and stretchy now going to insert a rivet post up from the backside of the design, set my rivetable component on top of the post on the top and set the cap over the post, squeeze them together a little bit to engage them then I'm going to set the whole thing onto a bench block and using our rivet setting tool I'll put that on top of the rivet and whack it a few times with the hammer until it's set test the set by pulling up on the cap a little bit and it doesn't pull up so that's good this can also be done with eyelets, just choose your eyelet length so that you have .5 to 1 millimeter of the tube showing above your stacked components and set those using the TierraCast eyelet setter anvil there are videos available for both the rivet setting and the eyelet setting in the beadaholique.com technique library if you need more information on those They're so quick and easy and fun.
