NOTE: For this project you will need a cylindric object which is approximately 1 inch in diameter. I used a 1" dowel, but a medicine bottle or something similar will work as well. Make sure your object is solid and does not have much give to it.
- If you would like to view step by step instructions on how to make this project, please see the video: How to Make Wine Charms
- If you prefer written instructions, please see below:
- Remember you are making a set of 6 charms, so please multiple the directions below by 6.
- Start by opening a 4mm jump ring and linking it onto a charm from your TierraCast assortment of holiday charms. Close the jump ring back up.
- Cut a 4" length of 20 gauge silver colored craft wire. Using your fingers, straighten the wire out as best you can. Take your 1" cylindric object and bend the wire around the form so that the ends of the wire overlap. Slide the wire off the form without distorting the round shape you just made.
- Take your round nose pliers and grab one of the wire tips. Gently bend the tip upwards and back in the direction opposite the main round. Make a hook type shape. Please see photo.
- Spread out your bead selection and start adding some to your round by sliding them onto the wire starting on the wire end which is not bent upwards. You can decide on the pattern and use the photo as inspiration. I made each charm different so that it would be easier for guests to identify which glass is theirs. Once you have placed as many beads as you want for the first half of the round, then add a charm via the jump ring you already attached. Now repeat the pattern of beads you already strung on the other side of the charm.
- When you are happy with how your beads and charm look on your circular shape, then take your round nose pliers and bend the tip (the one which has not previously been bent) to the side and around. You want to create a hook. Please see the photo.
- When you are finished, the two hooks you made at the wire ends should easily grab each other to secure the wine charm onto the stem of the goblet.
