Retired - Fotheringay Necklace

1. Begin by creating the pendant. To do this, add a 5.25mm jump ring to two of the corner holes in the filigree stamping, diagonally from one another.
2. Thread a bead cap and a Czech rondelle bead on to an eyepin and create a simple wire loop at the other end. Trim off excess wire. Open the loop on the end without the bead cap the same way you would open a jump ring, and thread this loop through the jump ring on one corner of the filigree stamping. Close the loop once more.
3. Onto another eyepin, thread a Czech rondelle only, no bead cap, and create another simple wire loop at the end. Trim off excess wire then at this loop to the loop at the bead capped end of the bead that is already hanging from the filigree stamping.
4. Now thread a 2.5mm antiqued brass round bead onto an eyepin. Trim off the wire, leaving about one quarter of an inch. Fold this wire end over and squeeze it tight with your pliers, thereby securing the brass bead on the eyepin. Open the eyepin loop on this bead, and thread it through the Czech rondelle hanging at the end of the filigree stamping. Close loop again.
5. Now you must affix the Austrian crystal rhinestones to the filigree stamping, as pictured. To do this, dab a very tiny amount of E6000 onto the back of the rhinestones using a toothpick or a spare bit of wire and press them into place, being cautious not to smear glue on the front of the filigree. Set the pendant aside to dry for a few hours.
6. Cut a piece of beading wire at about twenty inches long and secure one end of it with a Bead Stopper (XTL-3001).
7. Onto the beading wire, thread the following:
8. three 2.5mm round antiqued brass beads
9. and a 3mm crimp bead cover closed over a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead.
Repeat this next stringing pattern a total of four times:
10. a bead cap
11. a Czech rondelle
12. a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead
13. a Czech rondelle
14. a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead
15. a Czech rondelle
16. a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead
17. a Czech rondelle
18. and a bead cap.
To finish the first half of the necklace, thread:
19. a bead cap
20. a Czech rondelle
21. a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead
22. a Czech rondelle
23. a 2.5mm round antiqued brass bead
24. a Czech rondelle
25. and four 2.5mm round antiqued brass beads.
26. String the pendant onto the wire, through the jump ring at the top. Finish stringing the other half of the necklace as a mirror image of the first half.
27. Thread a crimp bead on each end of the necklace, but do not crimp them yet.
28. Thread each end of the necklace through a brass split ring and back through the crimp beads. Pull tight and crimp. Add a crimp bead cover over each of the crimp beads, and gently squeeze them shut.
29. Thread one half of the magnetic clasp onto each of the split rings to finish off the necklace.
