Retired - Flying Saucer Necklace

1. First, watch our video on how to use Crystal Clay.
2. Put on the gloves that come with the Crystal Clay. Pinch one hazelnut-sized amount each of the gray clay and the binder and mix together until blended. Form it into the shape of a slightly flattened ball.
3. String one silver plated spacer bead onto a headpin. Then gently slide the headpin through the center of the flattened side of the Crystal Clay, piercing it in the middle. String another spacer bead onto the headpin. Make sure the spacer beads on both sides of the Crystal Clay are pressed against the clay snugly.
4. Press the curved inner edges of your crescent beads into the Crystal Clay, creating an evenly spaced ring along the perimeter of the ball.
5. Using the beeswax tip applicator that comes with the Crystal Clay, place three Austrian Crystal chatons in a straight line between each of the crescent beads. Gently press them in so they are securely captured by the clay.
6. Place 12 more crystal chatons in a circle around the top of the bead.
7. Let your clay bead cure for 14 to 16 hours, or overnight.
8. On the long wire end of your headpin, make a simple wire loop with your round nose pliers. Clip off the extra wire with flush cutters.
9. Thread your chain through the wire loop you just made.
10. Open a jump ring and attach one end of your chain to the loop of your clasp.
11. Open another jump ring and attach it to the other end of your chain. Close the clasp, and you're all finished!
