This pattern will give you a finished bracelet that is approximately 7". If you wish to adjust the size, you can add or subtract rows from the pattern. If you need to add rows, you can improvise the pattern of the colored polka dot eggs or you can continue to add rows of the mint green background. Before you begin this project, watch the video:
How to do Flat Even Count Peyote Stitch.
- Thread a size 12 beading needle with a length of crystal Fireline beading thread. Use as long of a length as you are comfortable working with. You will need to add new thread several times throughout this project. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, watch this video.
- Using size 11/0 Delica seed beads in silver lined mint green alabaster, hot pink ceylon, light purple ceylon, yellow lined crystal, opaque light blue AB, silver lined amber, and crystal white ceylon, follow the pattern in the chart.
- Once you have completed the length of bracelet, do not tie off your last thread just yet. Set the bracelet aside.
- To complete the clasp you will need three beaded beads using the 11/0 delica seed beads in crystal white ceylon. When you finish each beaded bead, do not cut the tails of the thread. Weave them back to where they are coming out together.
- To secure the beaded beads to the beginning of the peyote, thread one mint delica on to both threads coming from the beaded bead. Starting from the top of the peyote, thread both threads down through the second opening in the peyote. The last mint delica that you just threaded will sit into that space as you weave in both threads to the right and the left of the notch.
- Repeat the last step at the 6th notch and 10th notch.
- To the other side of the bracelet you will be creating three loops for the beaded beads. Remember that thread you did not tie off, use that tail for this step. For these loops you will be using the very last row of raised beads. From the top, weave to the second raised bead, add 16 mint delicas. Form a loop and thread back through the second bead and up through the loop for extra security.
- Weave back through the peyote and use the 6th bead and 10th bead to form your other two loops.
- Tie off and weave in your ends.
