In addition to the materials listed, you will also need a toothpick, a lighter or small torch, a face mask and some disposable gloves to complete this project.
- Find the image of the robin on your sheet of Nunn Design collage images. Cut it out carefully with scissors.
- Next, watch our video on how to prepare images in pendants for resin. Following the instructions in the video, spread a thin layer of Crafter's Pick glue on the back of the robin image. Place the cut-out image into the bezel using tweezers and make sure the corners and edges stick down. Let the glue dry for 20 minutes.
- Using a dry paintbrush, paint three coats of Nunn Design sealant over the surface of the image, letting each coat dry in between. Wait an additional hour for the sealant to dry.
- Take 1 pearl and dab some Crafter's Pick glue on one side with a toothpick. Place it into the bezel near one corner. Repeat this step 6 more times, or as many times as desired, gluing some pearls down with their holes pointing upward.
- Take 1 gold head pin and cut it short with flush cutters. Use the headpin to decoratively hide the hole of a pearl bead. Repeat as many times as necessary.
- Next, watch our video on how to use Ice Resin. Put on your disposable gloves and face mask. Based on the instructions in the video, measure your resin and stir with a popsicle stick until all striations are gone. When it is fully mixed, use the stick to drip the resin into the bezel a few drops at a time, until the resin reaches the upper edge of the bezel. Make sure the resin covers the tops of the pearls in the bezel. Remove any air bubbles with a heat source such as a small torch.
- Allow the resin to cure in a dust-free area for three days.
- Using flush cutters, cut two 10 inch lengths of silver chain.
- Open a 4mm jump ring. Slide it on the first link of one length of chain and also slide on the loop of the bezel pendant. Close the jump ring.
- Repeat step 9 to attach the second length of chain to the pendant.
- Take 1 pearl bead and string it on 1 head pin. Make a simple wire loop. Repeat this step 7 more times, so you have 8 pearl bead dangles.
- Take 1 pearl bead dangle and open the wire loop from the previous step the same way you would open a jump ring. Slide it onto the third link of chain up from the pendant, and close the loop. Repeat this step 3 more times, attaching pearl dangles to the fifth, seventh and ninth link of chain from the pendant.
- Repeat step 12 to attach 4 pearl dangles along the second length of chain.
- Open a 6mm jump ring. Slide on the last link of chain on one side of the necklace, and also slide on the loop of your clasp. Close the jump ring.
- Open another 6mm jump ring. Slide it on the last link of chain on the other side of the necklace. Close the jump ring.
- Enjoy your necklace!
