Jade Morning Necklace

The natural variations of these Green and Yellow Jade gemstones give this necklace an organic, earthly feel. An open frame wire wrapped focal of tiny gemstones helps to complete the look of simple beauty.
Instructions

This necklace measures approximately 16 inches. To modify the length, simply adjust the number of beads strung respectively.
  1. Begin by making the wire wrapped pendant. Cut off 24 inches of gold wire. Begin wrapping around the hammered hoop 7 times. On the seventh time with the wire on the outside of the hoop string on one 4mm jade bead. Continue wrapping the wire the same way as you began. Wrap 5 times and add another jade bead. Repeat to add 7 beads total and finish with 7 wraps. Trim any excess wire.
  2. Attach one jump ring around the non beaded portion of the hoop. Close the loop.
  3. Cut a length of beading wire about 20 inches and placing a bead stopper about 2 inches from one end.
  4. String the bead on in the following order: 4mm jade, 4mm yellow, 4mm jade, 8mm yellow, 10mm jade, 8mm yellow. Repeat 4 times. Then string on a 4mm jade bead , the jump ring (please note that the jump ring is snug to keep the pendant from moving too much and can sit "behind" the gemstones as seen in the photo. If you'd like a more free flowing pendant please use a larger jump ring) and then string on one more 4mm jade bead. Finally string: 8mm yellow, 10mm jade, 8mm yellow, 4mm jade, 4mm yellow, 4mm jade. Repeat 4 times.
  5. String on one crimp tube. String one thread protector. Thread the beading wire back through the other side of the thread protector but before going back thru the crimp tube string on one end of the toggle clasp so it rests in the thread protector. Thread the wire back down through the crimp tube and pull snug. Crimp the crimp tube. Thread the wire back through a few adjacent beads. Trim any excess wire. Add a crimp cover.
  6. Move to the beginning side of the necklace and remove the bead stopper. Repeat the above step on this side of the necklace.
