Hi this Julie with Beadaholique.com and today I want to show you How to Use Circle and Oval templates when you're working with collage art bezel settings You can use these for a lot of different things. If you've gone to art school you've probably seen these or have these I want to show you how easy it is to use in jewelry making applications I got two templates right here. I've got a circle and an oval shape the circle has a thirty-six circles ranging from one millimeter all the way to thirty six millimeters. There's a very nice centimeter and millimeter ruler down here at the bottom and then on the oval template we have a total of twenty seven holes ranging from two millimeters up to fifty five millimeters, again it's got a really nice ruler on the bottom as well so if your done a lot of collage art, worked with bezels with resin, epoxy stickers, glass domes, anything like that you've probably encountered a bunch of different sized circles or ovals with your bezel settings now I tend to recommend if possible to use a hole punch Here I have a hole punch. I have to sign a piece of actually wrapping paper I bought that I thought had a lot of pretty patterns on it well that's great, that was really easy but the problem is it's not the right shape and oftentimes you won't be able to find a hole punch match the exact size of your bezel so this is where these templates come in handy. I'm going to show you how to use the circle one when I purchased this particular bezel the actual description told me that it had a inner diameter of thirty two millimeters so what you're going to do then is on your template you're gonna find a thirty two millimeter template circle now I'm going to be using a pen for this but I would rather you use a pencil either a really sharp pencil or a mechanical pencil because you're gonna wanna be able to get as close to that inside edge as possible because you don't wanna end up with your pen going like this and actually adding several millimeters all the way your circle so it ends up smaller than what you're going to want what you can do with the template, another nice thing is you can actually scroll it over and see what is within the window I love that bird, I'm gonna go ahead take my pen, what will be your pencil draw a line try to get as close to that edge as possible now if you're not able to get very close to that edge you might have to bump up a size so that when you do cut around your line it's going to actually become the original size that you wanted so now that I've got that nice circle take a pair of scissors cut carefully on the line I drew You want to use a pencil also because one it won't be as apparent on your edge but also if you were going to do something where you put perhaps resin or diamond glaze on top of this sometimes that pen will actually bleed into your image where a pencil is not going to do so you want to make sure you use a pencil now it should fit right in here you can see that it does I might want to trim it a little bit more because I went a little bit on the outside of my line cut right on your line this should fit right into the setting there we go now you have a perfectly sized circle to fit within your circle bezel and you can do that for any size circle you have so I hope you found this video helpful and will use this great tool to make your life a lot easier when you're cutting out images that need to be a circle or an oval shape
