- These oval sterling silver jump rings are useful as the female half of clasps, or as the end ring over which you loop and crimp your beading wire. Great to use as a connector between small elements (like on chandelier earrings) because they are narrower than they are long, keeping a slim profile, and the opening is on the long side of the oval which tends to prevent things slipping out of the ring.
