Unsung Heroes: Little Tools that are BIG Helpers

When designing jewelry, the tools you use can often be just as important as the beads. As crafters and creators, we often have a whole host of tools that we use to cut, twist, bend, crimp, and make the jewelry making supplies do what we need them to do in order to make our creations come to life. Of course there are the "core" tools like a pair of chain nose or round nose pliers, but there are also little tools which go under the radar but are huge helpers.

Here are some of my favorite tools that often go overlooked but are awesome little helpers!

The Beadsmith Scoop Eez Long Tube Scoop - For Seed Beads and Delicas

If you have ever spilled out a tube of seed beads and tried to get them all back into the tube, you know what a tedious process it can be. This little scoop does the work for you and picks up bigger beads too.

Impress Art Stamp Straight Tape - For Metal Punches - Lines Up Letters Perfectly

Have you ever tried stamping a straight line of text before? I have, and before I found this product, I have to admit that I made many mistakes with many restarts. This tape is so simple yet so great to use. Just stick it onto your blank and then you suddenly have a straight line to position your metal punching stamps against.

The Beadsmith Magical Pick Mini Rhinestone Pick Up Tool W/Cleaning Kit (3 Piece Set)

Rhinestones add wonderful sparkle to any design but placing them just where you want them can be a little tricky. However, if you use these little picks, grabbing and placing rhinestones is easy and precise. The compact size of these is also nice.

Gator Weight For Kumihimo Braiding - 1.6 Ounces (1 pcs)

For those who love to do kumihimo braiding, you already know the zen it can bring. It's very soothing and easy to do. The key to good looking braids is to keep your tension even during the braiding process. This weight clips onto the end of your braid and keeps the tension even as you work.

The Beadsmith Tools, Thread Snips 4.25 Inches Long (1 Piece)

If you are in a hurry and just need to quickly cut some threads, these compact and sharp snips are perfect. You just pinch them to close and don't even have to bother orienting your fingers into the usual scissor grip positions.

The Beadsmith Aluminum Triangle Bead Sorting Trays Use to Sort/Scoop & Weigh (6 Pieces)

These little trays are a very affordable and easy way of organizing your beads on your work station. They are also easy to scoop and pour with, making them ideal for both large and small beads.
