Please note that this necklace is a shorter necklace, using the 16 inch finished chain as the base. If you want a longer necklace, please order a longer finished chain to start.
- Begin by cutting through the 5th chain link down from one side of the clasp on the necklace. Cut a 3-inch piece of wire. 1 inch from the wire end, start to make a wrapped wire loop. Before you do the wrappings, slip into the loop a chain link from the area you cut. Complete your wrappings, trim your wire and tuck your tail. If you don't know how to do this, the video How to Make Wrapped Wire Loop Bead Links and Connect to Chain will help.
- Slip 3 pearls onto the wire from the previous step. Start to make another wrapped wire loop after the last pearl but before doing your wrappings, slip the other piece of cut chain into the loop. Complete your wrappings, trim your wire and tuck your tail.
- Repeat the previous two steps on the other side of the necklace. Refer to the photo if needed.
- Find the center midway point of the necklace. At that exact middle, cut the chain link that is there. Now you have two ends of chain. Cut 3/4" off of each chain end. Set aside for a moment.
- Using the same technique you did in the first two steps, create a 3 pearl long bead bar that reconnects your necklace together with that new bead bar in the center.
- Hold your necklace so that you are looking and working with the pearl bead bar in the center. Open a jump ring and slip it onto one of your 3/4 inch cut chain pieces and one of the wrapped wire loops on that middle bead bar. Close the jump ring. Repeat with another jump ring, the other cut piece of chain, and the other wrapped wire loop on the other side of the middle bead bar. Make sure that the chains are hanging in the down position away from the clasp.
- Open a jump ring and slip it onto a letter charm. Close the jump ring. Repeat with any other letter charms you are using.
- Open a jump ring and slip onto it the two chain ends from your attached pieces of chain and all the closed jump rings attached to your charms. Close that final jump ring. Enjoy!
