Before beginning this project, select some photos to use. You will first want to pick ones which have images within them that are the right size for your setting and then you will want to make a copy of the picture. A home ink jet printer works fine (either print directly from your computer, scan and print, or place on copier bed of an All-In-One). I recommend using heavier stock paper - such as 60lb - 100lb. You will find that the paper lays flatter (no ripples) and will absorb the ink and glue better. You can also take your photos to the copy center and have them copied there. Once you have your photos printed, proceed to the next step. Please watch this video here which shows you how to create the pendant. For written instructions, please see below:
- Take the glass cabochon and scroll it over your photo - use it as a guide to see how the various parts of the image will fit inside the setting and look under glass. Once you know where you are going to place the cabochon, turn it upside down and spread a layer of Nunn Glue over the entire backside all the way to the edges. Flip over and press into place on top of your image. Press hard to remove any air-bubbles. The glue will appear white and foggy but will dry clear. Let dry fully before progressing onto the next step.
- Once dry, use your scissors to cut around the side of the glass cabochon, thus cutting your picture out.
- Spread an even layer of Crafter's Pick glue onto the backside of your image (with the glass cab already glued on top). Flip over and press into place in your bezel setting. Press firmly for a good minute. Let dry for several hours.
- For this project you have 24" of chain to work with. I chose to make a 24" long necklace so there was no need to cut the chain, however, you should decide how long you want your necklace to be and cut your chain accordingly.
- Slide the one end of the chain through the loop at the top of your bezel setting.
- Open one silver plated oval jump ring and attach it to the end link on one side of your chain and also the closed 7mm jump ring. Close the jump ring.
- Go to the other side of your chain and open and link another oval jump ring to the end chain link and the loop at the base of your silver plated heart lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
- Enjoy your personalized new necklace!
