Herringbone Upstream Bracelet

1. Cut a 5 foot length of beading thread and thread a needle. Create a foundation row with your blue 11/0 semi-glazed seed beads using ladder stitch, that is six beads long.
2. Next, watch our video on how to do tubular herringbone bead weaving. Based on the technique shown in the video, reinforce your ladder and stitch the two ends together to create a ring. Slide the ring onto the form you will be using for structure and make sure the beads sit snugly together so there is no gap in your foundation row.
3. Work up 10 rows of tubular herringbone around your structure, using the blue beads.
4. Then weave two rows using the green 11/0 seed beads.
5. Next, weave one row using the olive 8/0 seed beads.
6. Weave one row using the gold crystal bicones. The crystals might stand away from your structure, but will be secured down as you add the following rows.
7. Now complete the pattern in reverse, weaving one row with olive 8/0 beads, and two more rows with green 11/0 beads.
8. Repeat steps 3-7 five times, so you have a total of six repetitions of the pattern. You will need to add more thread during your weaving, and can watch our video on how to tie off and add new thread to find out how.
9. Now you will join both ends of your weaving and close up the tube. To do this, align the two ends and sew up through the beads of your original foundation row as if they were simply the next row of beads. Weave the ends of your thread back through your stitching to secure it and trim off the rest.
