Retired - Grammy Necklace

1. Begin this project by metal stamping the round stamping blank. To do this, please find the smallest size round guide sticker in your stamping guides booklet. Align this on your stamping blank so that you have enough room to metal stamp the word grammy below the bottom arc of the sticker. Please watch the video:How to Make a Metal Stamped Cuff Bracelet with ImpressArt Tools. Although this video does not show stamping around a circle, it does discuss how you need to drag your stamp down so it rests on a sticker stamp guide. The same principle as illustrated with the bracelet and bracelet guide sticker applies when working with the stamping blank and round sticker guide.
2. Write the word grammy on the sticker so you know the spacing of your letters and where to punch each one.
3. Find your metal punch for the "g" and line the top of the "g" up against the bottom of the sticker arc. Do the same drag method as seen in the video but instead of dragging the bottom of the letter to rest against the sticker, you are dragging the top of the letter. Once you have it aligned, hit your punch one good time with your hammer. Proceed to do all your letters.
4. Once you have metal stamped the name, fill in the impressions with the stamp enamel marker. The video you just watched for making the cuff bracelet also shows how to fill in the impressions with the marker.
5. Open a large etched jump ring and link it to your metal stamped round and then place your metal heart on top of it. Close the jump ring.
6. Cut your chain to your desired length. The project provides for 24 inches of chain and the clasp will add a little under an inch.
7. Feed your chain through the closed etched jump ring.
8. Onto one end of chain, open and link a small oval jump ring. Also link onto it a closed etched jump ring. Close the oval jump ring.
9. Onto the other end of chain, open and link a small oval jump ring. Also link onto it a closed etched jump ring. Close the oval jump ring. Open another oval jump ring and link it to the just attached etched jump ring as well as the lobster clasp. Close the jump ring.
