These instructions will give you a necklace that is 18 inches. To adjust the length, simply adjust where you cut the chain.
- To make these "drops" you will need about 1 foot of thread to work with for each one.
- Cut a foot of thread and thread your needle.
- Here is an example of how to do a drop with 4 beads: With your needle pick up five seed beads, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, five seed beads. Now take your needle and go back down through the other holes of the superduos, adding one seed bead in between each.
- Take this thread and go around the thread path once more. When your threads meet up again, tie a double knot and weave the ends into a few beads. Cut the remaining thread. Set this piece aside.
- To make a drop with 6 beads: With your needle pick up five seed beads, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, five seed beads. Now take your needle and go back down through the other holes of the superduos, adding one seed bead in between each.
- Take this thread and go around the thread path once more. When your threads meet up again, tie a double knot and weave the ends into a few beads. Cut the remaining thread. Set this piece aside.
- To make a drop with 8 beads: With your needle pick up five seed beads, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, one seed bead, one superduo, five seed beads. Now take your needle and go back down through the other holes of the superduos, adding one seed bead in between each.
- Take this thread and go around the thread path once more. When your threads meet up again, tie a double knot and weave the ends into a few beads. Cut the remaining thread. Set this piece aside.
- Repeat the above steps to create all of the drops. You will need a total of six drops containing 4 superduos, ten drops containing 6 superduos, and five drops containing 8 superduos.
- Cut off 18 inches of chain. Thread the chain with your drops keeping the staggered pattern. See the photo for reference.
- I have strung my drops in the following order (by number of beads in the drop): 4-6-8-6-4-6-8-6-4-6-8-6-4-6-8-6-4-6-8-6-4.
- To the ends of the chain, add one ball chain connector clasp to finish off the ends.
