Hi, this is Julie with beadaholique.com Today I wanna show you how to make the Lucite Lily earrings which is an exclusive kit from beadaholique.com and I've got four different color variations here. I want to show you them against white paper because it might be a little easier to see their true colors. I've got this purple one, pink, white, and blue and these are really easy to make and when you buy the kit you get all the ingredients to make a pair of these Lucite Lily earrings. So speaking of the kit this here is what you're going to receive you're going to receive your head pins which have a little pretty ball at the end earring hooks, two large beads and two small beads, these beautiful green lucite stems and these pretty lucite calla lily flowers and I have pink ones here. I'm doing the pink kit but if you have a different color you'll have a different color of the flower and you'll have a different color of the large bead. In terms of the tools that you're going to need is a pair of round nose pliers, chain nose pliers and a pair of cutters. I'm going to show you how to make an earring here. We're gonna start by taking your head pin and placing on the large beads onto it and sliding it down to the base. Then we're going to take a smaller bead put it on top of the large bead and then add a lily and see what happens by putting that extra bead in there it makes it so that the larger bead hangs down a little bit further and you can see it come out from that pretty tapered shape of the lily. Now we're gonna add our green stem and you don't want this to go like that, I mean you could but I think it looks nice if you have both of the arched openings facing in the same directions so it fits right on top of it and now we're going to create a simple wire loop I want you to be cautious when you do this because you are working with lucite which is a little bit fragile so just be a little aware of that. We're going to create a wrapped wire loop. I'm going to take my chain nose and I could of just bent it down with my fingers or you can bend it down the chain nose pliers. I just gripped it up at the top, bent the wire over to a 90 degree angle I'll take my round nose pliers grip in that crease, wrap the wire up and around, rotate my pliers bring it full circle we've got a loop now I want to go ahead and grab that loop with your chain nose pliers make sure your lucite didn't slide it might slide a little bit in this process and then take that wire and loop it around several times depending on how big of an arch you made when you first started with that ninety degree arc with the chain nose pliers It's going to determine how many loops you can make so I'm almost there. I'll do one more but I can see that my lucite is slipping a little. Before I go any further position that how I want it and make my last loop like so dairy cow point that little piece of wire away from you point that's little kiss a wire away from you anytime that you do use wire and you're cutting it and I'm just taking my chain nose plier and I'm pressing that end into my wrappings, there we go so we've got that wrapped wire loop and now we're going to go ahead and attach our earring hook to do that we're going to open the earring hook the same way we would open a jump ring, slip on our wrapped wire loop, close it backup we have a lovely earring and it was just that easy. You just then repeat the same steps with your other pieces in your kit and you would have a matched pair of lucite earrings again.
